Pumpkins!
Hello Families!
Last week we learned all about pumpkins! We talked about when pumpkins grow, who grows them and the parts of a pumpkin. The kids LOVED having a big and mini pumpkin that they could explore and hold! We read a fun story about a pumpkin that was craved into different Halloween costumes. I put velcro on a mini pumpkin and had each student "put on/dress up" with the matching picture symbol. We then read another book about the different facts about pumpkins.
Today we did some pumpkin exploration! We talked about the different parts of the pumpkin first and then we explored inside! Each student took turns scooping out the pulp and seeds. Some friends enjoyed it while others didn't- it was so fun to see their reactions.
Here's some of my favorite first reactions:
I can confidently say that they ALL enjoyed taking turns to scoop the pulp out! It was great activity and Mrs. Fraser helped us to work on our core words while exploring!
This week we're going to learn about how a pumpkin grows. We have a fun pumpkin experiment we're doing later during the week- I can't wait to share pictures!
Have a great day,
Miss Feeley
