Pumpkin Fun!
Hello Families!
We had an awesome week and started our pumpkin unit in celebration of Halloween! We read a story all about pumpkins and learned when they grow, who grows them and the different parts of a pumpkin. Together we did a vocabulary activity, sorting activity, counting book, explored the inside of a pumpkin and did a fun craft together! They all loved being able to explore the different sized pumpkins while we read to make real life connections to our book!
Below our friends are working on sorting by size, color and their vocabulary pages! They did a great job with their counting book- we practiced following one step directions, 1:1 correspondence, number ID, writing numbers, cutting and gluing.
On Wednesday we explored the inside of a pumpkin! Everyone explored the pulp and seeds. Some friends enjoyed the different textures while others didn't, however everyone did a great job quickly exploring and touching.
We used the seeds from our pumpkin to create a fun craft where they make their own pumpkins with the specific parts we learned about: pulp, seeds & stem. During our craft we worked on following 1 step directions, counting, fine motor skills and color identification.
What an awesome week together! This upcoming week we'll be learning about the pumpkin life cycle!
Have a great day!!
Miss Feeley
