Six Little Pumpkins! Catching up....

Hello Families!

These little pumpkins had a GREAT Halloween at school!

We read the Scholastic News article "Five Little Pumpkins" and completed an activity as we sang along.

On Halloween we had special "Halloween themed" literacy centers.

In our first center, we made spiders! This activity practiced fine motor skills, following simple one step directions, and cutting. The students enjoyed making their spiders to celebrate Halloween!

In the next center, the students completed an adapted Halloween book. During this center work was modified for each student. They had to cut & paste, match the correlating picture or object, and for some friends they even wrote and labeled each of the pictures.

Next, students read all different adapted Halloween stories and had to match the correct picture/word/object to the story.

In our last station, they had to weave a "spider" through a web made of string. This worked on visual tracking & fine motor coordination. The students then explored a sensory bin filled with rice, pasta, spiders and bugs!

Looking ahead:
  • No school tomorrow Thursday Novemeber 14th
  • Friday November 15th will be our Veteran's Day celebration- please dress your child in red, white & blue to celebrate.
  • Sensory Friendly Storytime at Barnes & Noble at the Crossings on Saturday November 16th at 9:15am. Please join for a fun morning and a guest reader!
