Gobble Gobble, Do the Turkey Wobble!
Hello Families!

We had a great week celebrating Thanksgiving, it was filled with stories and interactive activities. (Please excuse the long update, we've been busy this week!!)
We kicked off our week by reading one of my favorite stories, Turkey Trouble. Some friends used communication pages and large pictures, while others used tactile objects to represent animals and switches in order to participate and answer questions throughout. The students then sequenced the different animals turkey tried to dress up as and then completed a comprehension activity too.

We made a fun turkey craft and painted our hands to make feathers! It was funny to see their initial reactions to the cold wet paint.
We the read the Scholastic News Article, Season to Be Thankful. The students enjoyed having the article first displayed on our projector in order to make it more engaging and hands on.

Today we did Thanksgiving centers!!
Our first center was Thanksgiving counting which was leveled for each student!
The next center we read adapted Thanksgiving books!
The next center was our craft, the students made themselves into turkeys! They were focused and hard at work.
The students also worked on their reading comprehension after reading a story about Thanksgiving!
To finish up the day we made our annual "Thankful Turkey" with feathers from each person in our classroom. Everyone wrote or pasted pictures of what they're thankful for.
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and long weekend!
Miss Feeley
