An Apple a Day...

October 15, 2018

Hello Family and Friends!

Welcome to our new Room 1 Blog! This will give you a snapshot into the fun and learning going on throughout the school week for your child 😄 .

Last week we began our new fall unit! I've made this unit to be both interactive and hands on for all of our learners. We'll be learning about apples, pumpkins & leaves: their parts, food you can make from apples and pumpkins; while also exploring their textures and incorporating math, reading comprehension and hands-on crafts. The students will be completing an "All About Fall" journal during this unit, which will be sent home after we've completed all of our lessons.

Hands on learning

Each student explores and completes their journal with visuals, tactile supports, or even actual objects and textures to support their learning. Throughout the lessons we also use our communication tools as well!

In Room 1 one of the most important pieces in order for us to be successful is working together as a team! We're so lucky to have AMAZING therapists, classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to support us in all that we do. Here's some of those moments captured.
