Thankful Turkeys
Hello Families!
It's been a crazy past two weeks, but I wanted to catch you up on our fun activities that we did together! Last week for Thanksgiving, we read the story:
In this story, Turkey didn't want to become Thanksgiving dinner so he tried to disguise himself as the different animals on the farm. While reading we practiced animal identification and the sequencing of events/animals that turkey dressed up as on a big poster board.
Together we celebrated all the different things we were thankful for by making a "Thankful Turkey". The students each had a feather and choose what things they were thankful for and then glue it onto their turkey feather. There was so much to be thankful for!
This week we've been reading the book:
We've learned the different types of clothing you wear when it's cold outside and also identifying where they go on your body. We used real clothing to provide a more meaningful connection.
Throughout the week we have been sorting the different clothing according to where it goes on your body. The sorting has helped to reinforce body parts and the types of clothing as well.
Next week we will continue to talk about winter clothing by reading the story:
