Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Everywhere!

November 13, 2018

Hello Family and Friends!

I apologize ahead of time for such a BIG update but the past two weeks have been filled with lots of fun activities between Halloween and other classroom projects! I'm so excited to share with you our AWESOME group OT session planned by Mrs. Hart. Our PT Ms. Pellegrino also joined in to help support and work on gross motor skills. All of the activities were Halloween themed. We first read a story and then Mrs. Hart had the students following directions and handing our BIG pumpkin to each of their friends.

Then we crumbled up pieces of paper to make a ghost. After crumbling their paper, the students then had to walk across the balance beam to put their paper into the big plastic bag.

Last, we make our very own jack-o-lanterns!

All of the students enjoyed all of the fun activities and hands on learning!

Another fun project we did was our pumpkin experiment! The students did an experiment to determine if pumpkins float or sink. Like scientists we made predictions and then conducted our experiment! We found out that pumpkins float.

Lastly we wrapped up learning about pumpkins by exploring pumpkin textures and its parts. I tried to capture their initial reactions to feeling the pulp of the pumpkin. You can certainly tell those who enjoyed and the others who may not have...

As a reminder there is no school Thursday. More updates to come.

Hope you all have a great week!

Miss Feeley
