Orcas, Orcas, Ocras, Everywhere!
February 25, 2019 Hello Families and Friends! Last week we wrapped up our Winter Unit by learning about Orcas. We learned and completed our new vocabulary activity, labeled the parts of an Orca and then sorted them by size. This Winter Unit has been one of my favorites so far this year! The students really were very engaged when learning about animals. From their reactions and interest I plan on creating future units to include animals and learning different fun facts! In honor of Read Across America Day, we are learning about Dr. Seuss and reading some of his most popular stories! This week we also read the Scholastic News article "Up, Up, Up!" This was a GREAT connection and support to the core word of the week "up" that they were working on.
