October 23, 2018 Hello Family and Friends! Last week we wrapped up our apple unit with some fun activities and crafts. Together we made apple prints with paint. We cut our apples in half in different directions to create different prints and shapes. The students enjoyed getting a little messy. The students then wrote their names on individual apples to decorate our classroom tree. Exploring Apple Textures

October 16, 2018 Hello Family & Friends! I couldn't wait another week to share the activity we did today! This week for our fall unit, we're reading the story "Apple Farmer Annie". Throughout the book we have learned about the different foods that are made from apples: apple pie, applesauce, apple cider & candy apples. For a fun hands on activity, I brought in each of those foods for us to explore tactually and then they had to determine if they liked it or did not. Here are some great moments and reactions captured this morning. apple pie!           applesauce!           candy apple!      Have a great day! Miss Feeley

We'll be learning about apples, pumpkins & leaves: their parts, food you can make from apples and pumpkins; while also exploring their textures and incorporating math, reading comprehension and hands-on crafts. The students will be completing an "All About Fall" journal during this unit, which will be sent home after we've completed all of our lessons.     Hands on learning       Each student explores and completes their journal with visuals, tactile supports, or even actual objects and textures to support their learning. Throughout the lessons we also use our communication tools as well! In Room 1 one ...
