Peter Rabbit
Hello Families! Last week we read the adapted story Peter Rabbit. It was a simplified version supported by embedded picture symbols. On each of the child's devices we programmed a specific page with important vocabulary and core words in order for them to participate as we read the story. We completed several connecting activities: counting in the garden, 1:1 correspondence with green beans, sorting by category: vegetables vs not vegetables, comprehension check-ins, circling animals and plants worksheet and sequencing events. They all enjoyed having their own copy of the book which increased their attention and engagement. Moving forward, this will be our new read aloud routine. We will read an adapted & simplified story for two weeks by working on our comprehension and use of new vocabulary words in context.
