Peter Rabbit

  Hello Families! Last week we read the adapted story Peter Rabbit. It was a simplified version supported by embedded picture symbols. On each of the child's devices we programmed a specific page with important vocabulary and core words in order for them to participate as we read the story. We completed several connecting activities: counting in the garden, 1:1 correspondence with green beans, sorting by category: vegetables vs not vegetables, comprehension check-ins, circling animals and plants worksheet and sequencing events. They all enjoyed having their own copy of the book which increased their attention and engagement.  Moving forward, this will be our new read aloud routine. We will read an adapted & simplified story for two weeks by working on our comprehension and use of new vocabulary words in context. Catch Up!

  Hello Families! I apologize for skipping last week's update but let's catch up!! Last Monday was Halloween! We had SO much fun in our Halloween Centers! The students enjoyed our decorations and activities that day! First let's look at these sweet faces with some "costumes" on and BIG smiles! Here are some of the FUN activities we did that day: We read the story:  This is a fun Halloween themed story that also teaches: body party ID, color ID, and sequencing. As we read the story together, they each made their own version of the "big green monster". We answered comprehension questions too about our story. We made sure to use our words throughout We made sure to have fun sensory activities during the day too! They enjoyed their Halloween sensory bin and water play too!   Then we read a Halloween social story about trick or treating and then they colored in their own mini pumpkin! LASTLY we made "disappearing ghosts" that would dissolve in water...
