Thankful Turkeys!

November 27, 2018 Hello Families and Friends! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, the break sure went by fast! I wanted to share with you our activities we did for Thanksgiving within our classroom. Our turkeys read an adapted version of the book Turkey Trouble .  As we read along with the story, we sequenced the different animals that turkey dressed up as, we used pictures, objects, and switches.         We also made a giant turkey and each student made a feather of things that they are thankful for!          A big THANK YOU goes to you parents for having such amazing children, for that I am so thankful! Also here are some important dates to remember! Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Everywhere!

November 13, 2018 Hello Family and Friends! I apologize ahead of time for such a BIG update but the past two weeks have been  filled with lots of fun activities between Halloween and other classroom projects! I'm so excited to share with you our AWESOME group OT session planned by Mrs. Hart. Our PT Ms. Pellegrino also joined in to help support and work on gross motor skills. All of the activities were Halloween themed.  We first read a story and then Mrs. Hart had the students following directions and handing our BIG pumpkin to each of their friends.                  Then we crumbled up pieces of paper to make a ghost. After crumbling their paper, the students then had to walk across the balance beam to put their paper into the big plastic bag.                  Last, we make our very own jack-o-lanterns!               ...

Halloween Celebration!

November 7, 2018 Hello Families and Friends! What a busy few weeks its been here in ISE! I wanted to share with you the AMAZING afternoon that the 5th graders, their teacher, Mrs. Elefsiades and Mr. Connell planned for us on Halloween.  They planned and ran each of the centers throughout the gym for our students!   This center is called "Pop & Find Pumpkins"- the kids had to push their hands through and break the tissue paper to find the "prizes" inside!          This center was called "Ring Around the Witch's Hat"          Dress Up & Freeze Dancing!            Read Aloud, Sensory Bins & Life-sized Board Game             Make a Mummy!!    Needless to say we had an AMAZING Halloween celebration!
