Penguins & Seals Oh My!

  Hello Families!! On Monday we wrapped up learning about penguins with a fun craft! We practiced our fine motor by squeezing the paint bottle, folding paper and then placing the different penguin body parts we learned about by using our pincer grasp. We also played Arctic Animal BINGO- this is a great way to incorporate visual tracking, matching, waiting, taking turns and animal identification. I can confidently say that Tuesday was everyone's favorite day this week. We did water play!! I filled our sensory bin with water, bubbles, sponges and polar/farm animals. It was a HUGE hit with plenty of smiles to go around. We'll certainly be continuing to do more water play in the future.    The students enjoyed learning about seals, especially the funny barking sounds they make. I recorded the seals barking on our orange switch and everyone was able to take turns hitting it. It was a fun addition to our book.  We read a Scholastic News all about animal teeth! It was a gre...
