Frog & Toad Are Friends!
Hello Families! Hope everyone had a great week! We are currently reading an adapted version of Frog and Toad Are Friends. It's one of my favorites and also a Caldecott medal book too; which is awarded to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children! Above is a sample of how the stories are presented to the students. I have simplified the story to just include the most important concepts and details from the story to ensure their understanding. Each word/sentence is composed of picture symbols to support their reading and word identification. While reading, I'll often stop in the middle of the sentences to have students read the words or identify the pictures. My friends that are visually impaired have objects to represent the characters and also switches to be able to participate and identify key characters.
