First Week and Flat Stanley Fun

Image
Hello Families and Friends!! What a great first week of school, I think you can tell by these smiling faces that they agree!    We started reading the adapted version of "Flat Stanley, His Original Adventure" and the boys have really enjoyed it so far! I've incorporated lots of hands on supports and materials to ensure their understanding.      We used play-doh to make a person and then had a "bulletin board" (clipboard) fall on them and they were able to see and feel that they were flat like Stanley.  Mrs. Hart joined the group too.              Each child made their own Flat Stanley, they came out so great!     Have a great long weekend! Hello Families and Friends!!! What a great first day back! I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing summer break. It was so great to see all of the students and get back into the groove!  We are all very excited to work with your child this school year. Our staffing remains the same this: Miss G, Mrs. Melo & Mrs. Mattson. Some friends transitioned to Mrs. Hayward's classroom, but we will have four wonderful students this year. For the start of the year we will be reading an adapted version of the book "Flat Stanley: His Original Adventure" There will be various hands on activities and supports incorporated throughout.  A few parents have asked about providing supplies for the classroom and any contribution would be greatly appreciated! If you are interested in donating supplies here is a list of ideas… Glue sticks (jumbo size if possible) Lysol/Clorax Wipes Tissues If you have any questions please don't hesitate to...
